Hilltop Hoods Make History

The Hilltop Hoods have made Australian music history with their album ‘The Hard Road’ becoming the first Aussie hip hop act to hit number one in the ARIA charts.

On their way to the top, the Hoods outsold the likes of James Blunt, Westlife, and Ben Harper.

A tired and emotional MC Suffa told Triple J’s Robbie Buck that he hopes this win for the Hoods means good things for local hip hop in general.

“Hopefully it does open up the field. Maybe a few of the majors will sign some of our friends.”

The success of ‘The Hard Road’ has taken many people by suprise, but The Hilltops have won many fans over with frequent shows and festival appearences. The number album on the ARIA charts is a deserved reward for one of Australia’s most loved groups, and one that should have continued success.

The Hoods will be on the Hard Road tour until the end of the month.
