The lineup for Australia’s biggest Punk and Metal festival, Soundwave, has been hotly debated on online communities for months now. Rumours abounded as to which rock gods would be making an appearance in 2011, following on from the massive headliners from previous years, including the Deftones, the Offspring, Alice In Chains, Motion City Soundtrack, and last years headliners Placebo and Faith No More.
But debate no more, as it appears the line up next years travelling festival has been leaked. A member of the official Soundwave forum has posted a photo of what appears to be a promotional poster set for publication in local street press. The picture was quickly removed but it prompted much debate and excitement on the forums.

So, if it is to be believed the 2011 Soundwave Festival will be headlined by British Metal gods Iron Maiden. Also coming along for the shows are huge names such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Slayer, Primus, Social Distortion, Rob Zombie, Pennywise and Less Than Jake. Other international acts supposedly on the bill include Avenged Sevenfold, 30 Seconds To Mars, Stone Sour, Gang of Four, New Found Glory, Sum 41, Annberlin, The Gaslight Anthem, Third Eye Blind, Devildriver, Sevendust, The Bronx, Monster Magnet, Terror, MXPX, Protest The Hero, Melvins, 30 Crazyfists, Ill Nino, The Ataris, The Starting Line, Bayside, Madd Caddies, The Maine, Trash Talk, May Day Parade, Foxy Shazam, Never Shout Never, The Blackout, Alesana, Asking Alexandria, All That Remains, High On Fire, Dommin, The Sword, Kylesa, A Skylit Drive, There For Tomorrow, Breathe Carolina, Taking Dawn, I See Stars, Rise To Remain, Nonpoint, Veara, Every Avenue, with many more to be announced.
Local acts will be added to the line up in the coming weeks.

Sun 27 Feb – Sydney
Fri 4 Mar – Melbourne
Sat 5 Mar – Adelaide
Mon 7 Mar – Perth

Pre Sale tickets will be offered to registered Soundwave website and forum users on these dates:

Tuesday 10 August,9am – Brisbane
Wednesday 11 August, 9am – Sydney
Thursday 12 August, 9am – Melbourne
Friday 13 August, 9am – Adelaide and Perth

General Public tickets will go on sale August 19.
The official announcement of acts will happen at midnight tonight.
