The Black Cats hail from the sunny beachside metropolis that is Newcastle. These guys have hit the ground running with their first self titled EP released back in March 2013. The punk rock scene runs thick through their veins and they show that through their passionate and energetic live shows.

The Black Cats formed in June 2012. Their self titled EP was written and recorded by guitar/vocalist Josh Boutros and drummer Daniel Borgas. Shortly after bass player Jonny Dustow was recruited for their first support show with Stolen Memories at the Coast Hotel, Budgewoi where they pulled in a full capacity crowd and lifted the roof.

On the 21st March 2013 The Black Cats Launched their self-titled EP at The Beachcomber Hotel along with support acts AnnaLeisA and SixxDays whoset the scene for The Black Cats to rip up the stage.

The Black Cats featured their track ‘Liquid’ at the 2013 ‘Pro’s at Bowlo-rama’ skate event in Bondi Beach opening the ears of thousands of skater kids and pro’s to their tunes, helping them to build an ever increasing presence in the punk rock scene and an army of followers. In June their single  ‘Blank’ will also be added to the latest ‘Jack, Jill & Coke’ Compilation record through OTR (Off The Record) which you will no doubt see in one of the street press mags shortly.

The Black Cats will be hitting the road taking their new EP down the east coast of Australia throughout June/July 2013. Starting in Brisbane the band will meander their way down the coast stoping in coastal towns finishing in down town Melbourne with a gig at Gertrudes Brown Couch.
