‘Something Good Can Work’…. it can, it will, and it is definitely working when it comes to Irish trio, Two Door Cinema Club. They are undeniably pop, undeniably hip and undeniably the new darlings of the underground, baking their flavour with lashings of electronica/ electro rock, rock and Afro beats.

In 2010, Two Door Cinema Club make their debut trek to Australia to join the Splendour in the Grass 10th Birthday celebration, and get up close and personal with fans during three intimate club shows in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.

When their debut album Tourist History was released in Australia in February, it redefined short sharp and sweet. Ten songs, thirty-two minutes and no wastage whatsoever, as all classic debut albums would dream to be.  On top of receiving high praise from reviewers in print and online, the band have been awarded the luxury of radio support from multiple platforms; community radio, JJJ and commercial, all embracing the sound of Two Door Cinema Club. Their latest single ‘Something Good Can Work’ was delivered to radio and TV last week.

Meeting as 15 year olds in high school and through mutual friends in Bangor, Northern Ireland, Alex, Kevin and Sam share musical tastes drawn from acts like Death Cab For Cutie, Architecture In Helsinki, Bloc Party and Modest Mouse, whose collectively leaner, rhythmic and melodic compositions have spilled over into their own music.

TV have opened their arms to the trio as well, with the clip for their first single ‘I Can Talk’ added to MTV, Channel V, Rage, Video Hits and the ARIA Chart show. This winter, the band will land on Australian soil to give fans a taste of their celebrated tunes in the flesh.

“Their debut album is a short, sharp shock to the system. Yeah, they may look like a band that would steal your library books rather than your girlfriend, but that just makes us love them even more” – NME
“…an infectious debut” – Drowned in Sound
“an intensely listenable record, and its thoughtful simplicity is something to be cherished in an age of grand designs and high pretension in indie rock” – The Coolhunter
