ELI PAPERBOY REED Announces East Cost Blues & Roots Festival side shows in Melbourne & Sydney
“’Come and Get It’ combines soul-ratcheting spunk with 1960s-style ballads. At its core is an age-old R&B tradition: lyrics of love and being driven wild by women. When he hits stride, Reed unleashes raw sexual energy through deep-bellied hollers, explosive bursts from his band and auctioneer-like rapidity.”— CNN
Eli Paperboy Reed is one of soul, blues, and gospel music’s brightest up-and-comers. His work as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist has taken him around the world, winning fans and rave reviews every step of the way. In recent times Eli Paperboy Reed has toured with Duffy, Guster, Franz Ferdinand and The Hives, as well as performing at world-class festivals such as Lollapalooza, The Falls Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Fuji Rock, Life is Good Festival and Voodoofest.
His journey has culminated in the release of ‘Come and Get It ‘on Capitol Records, his first major label release. The title track of the same name was a Top 20 single on US radio.
Due to popular demand, following an appearance at the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival, Eli Paperboy Reed will be taking his explosive live show to Melbourne & Sydney.
“Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed’s first major label release is as potent a classic R&B set as this century is likely to deliver… recognition flashes might suggest Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett or Sam Cooke, but this is absorption and reimagination, not imitation… this is one „Paperboy‟ who delivers. ”— MOJO
