THE INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARD NOMINEES FOR 2011

ADALITA

The nominations for the sixth annual Jagermeister Independent Music Awards are officially in, with the current front runners being Magic Dirt rocker Adalita and hip-hop artist Seekae, each receiving nominations in four categories.

Adalita’s (and Seekae’s) nominations include Best Independent Artist, Best Independent Single or EP and Best Independent Album of The Year for her debut solo album. It has so far been descriped by Rip It Up as “such a contrast to anything Adalita’s done before” and “stripped right back to guitar and a dash of tambourine with her powerful – even haunting – vocals making it quite minimalist.”

Another hip-hop artist also receiving multiple head nods is WA aritst Drapht, who’s Life Of Riley record is up for Best Hip Hop Album.

Another name we’re very happy to see is guitar goddess Abbe May up for Best Independant Album for Design Desire..

The awards event will air in October and feature live performances from Adalita, Caling All Cars, The Holidays, Illy (feat. Owl Eyes) and Emma Louise, but artist interviews and back stage footage courtesy of Chanel V.
