The 2014 Queenscliff Music Festival line up just keeps getting fresher, as even more quality acts join the growing list of QMF converts:

Multi-award winning country soul rock ‘n’ roller with 2014 release ‘Blackbird’ Dan Sultan, fellow award winners and folk sensations who have toured with the likes of Neil Young and are on the brink of their highly anticipated Sophomore album Husky, WA’s dynamic blues and roots outfit Blue Shaddy, dream trio made up of three familiar names synonymous with great songwriting and powerful live performances Dyson Stringer Cloher, Melbourne genre-benders whose first album sparked a domino of enthusiastic reviews (and they are about to drop their next album!) The Delta Riggs, Gold-Coast-based nu-school breaks spinners Tijuana Cartel, Adelaide’s rising star rapper who has already been pegged in Triple J’s Next Crop list and cracked the ARIA singles chart Tkay Maidza, fellow Radeladeians whose afro-soul sounds make Fela Kuti inspired waves across dance floors The Shaolin Afronauts, troubadour Steve Smyth who was born into a nomadic gospel church-building family, has been drawing parallels to vocal icons from Jeff Buckley to Tom Waits, and will hit the QMF stage fresh from a tour of Spain, and the two-time New Zealand Music Award winner described as “the impossible love child of Elvis, Roy Orbison and Townes Van Zandt” and touted by Rhythms Magazine as the “Artist To Watch” in 2014 Marlon Williams.

These names join already announced acts (in alphabetical order):

The Bombay Royale The Church
D.D. Dumbo
Hiatus Kaiyote

The Jezabels Kasey Chambers Stonefield
The Waifs Xavier Rudd

QMF tickets are already hot property this year, having broken the record for early sales, and the third ticket release is flying (until August 31st or sold out). This year the charming folk at Queenscliff HQ are also offering a new Sunday Ferry & Ticket package at $90 (adult ticket), which gets you a return foot-passenger ticket on the Ferry between Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula and Queenscliff, along with a Sunday festival ticket.

This second announcement precedes a late Winter announcement that will include acts from across the seas and, in the words of Festival Director Andrew Orvis, “add a dash of international flavour to the Queenscliff experience”. No doubt these travellers will catch onto the QMF buzz that draws top acts to the no-fuss, all-fun weekend that ignites the festival grounds and the township of Queenscliff on the last weekend in November.

What else does QMF’s new Festival Director Andrew Orvis have in store for 2014? More news still to come…
