The Falls Music and Arts Festival is back for a monumental 18th year in Lorne, Victoria.

It’ll run over 4 days from December 28 to January 1, with around 60 performers plus comedians, films and The Falls Arts Village.

The first line-up announcement has just been made and it features heaps of amazing local and international acts across a big range of genres.

Headliners include Interpol, who’ll be touring the brand new album they have due next month; Joan Jett, subject of the recent biopic The Runaways, along with her band the Blackhearts; English indie-dance band Klaxons; and hip hop legends Public Enemy who’ll be performing their seminal 1990 album Fear of a Black Planet in full.

There’s also a DJ set from Peaches; indie heroes The National; a third Australian visit from Cold War Kids; the debut Australian tour by Sleigh Bells; indie-dance pioneers The Rapture; a DJ set from Vampire Weekend’s Chris Baio and heaps more.

Plus there are plenty of killer local acts like rock trio The Living End, folk-popsters Angus & Julia Stone, Townsville’s own The Middle East and the iconic Paul Kelly.
