The Festival

There’s a new kid in town – set to become one of the biggest all ages events on the summer calendar, Australia’s hottest new years day music festival Beats on the Beach is stepping up to assume its position. 15 minutes from Byron, on some of the most pristine, sun drenched beaches in the country Beats On The Beach will feature over 25 international, national and local performers including Pete Murray, End of Fashion, Katalyst   RU:CL, Infusion, The Sick Puppies, Karnivool, Saul Williams, Concord Dawn, Van She, Pendulum, Nextmen + Dynamite MC and many, many more.

Running 10am – 9pm, New Years Day 2007, Beats on the Beach will also play host to major pro skate boarding demos   comps, food stalls, arts and crafts, moon light cinema and an onsite festival camping opportunity the likes of which hasn’t been seen before at an Australian festival of this calibre. Presented against the surrounding backdrop of Ballina’s vibrant town and beautiful beaches and representing an unequalled value for summer money equation, Beats On The Beach is set to become one of Australia’s premier, arts and music festivals.

The Beach

Nestled amidst sandy beaches, shimmering rivers, lakes, waterways and some of the worlds finest surf breaks, the town of Ballina sits at the commercial and cultural heart of the NSW’s world renowned Northern Rivers region. The Action

‘Feats On The Beach': more than just a music festival, Beats on the Beach is proud to present pro and amateur extreme sport Skateboarding comps.

Skate Demo   Comp: Australia’s biggest vert skate ramp will be located within the festival site. There will be skate demo’s featuring Australia’s finest pro skaters as well an amateur skate comp with major prizes awarded.

The Camp

For those who take their festival partying seriously, this is where the Beats On The Beach hi-lights really hit. Your official invite to celebrate New Years Eve under the stars in a in a beachside paradise, Beats On The Beach is offering camping opportunities unlike any other festival of its kind.

Located on the shoreline of the mouth of the Richmond River, within the Kingsford Smith Park Festival Site, The Beach Bum Camp Ground will boast its own CocoNut Cocktail Bar, Madman Moon light Cinema (dusk till dawn each night of camping), roving performers (wandering giant stick insect’s, fluorescent mimes and twisted contortionists), food stalls, workshops, stage performances and theatricals. The camp site will operate for two nights and three days from New Years Eve through to the second of January 07. In combination with all of the above a plethora of exclusive activities, entertainment and performances are tba for NYE in particular.

Only 2000 camping passes have been made available to the Beach Bum Camp Ground and aside from being a great place to chill out with your mates during the festival, staying at the Beach Bum Camp Ground means you won’t have to worry about getting to and from the show when the gates close. The camp ground offers all amenities, toilets, showers and of course, secure camping.

Taking advantage of the Beach Bum Camp site is advised for those who do not live in the surrounding region as all accommodation in the region is booked out a month in advance. With most camp sites priced at $150 for two nights, camping the Beach Bum camp site is by far the best and most economic option. As with all festival camping scenarios, patrons are asked to respect the close proximity of the camp grounds to the Ballina residential area and act accordingly. If you are too late to purchase a Beach Bum camping pass we advise seeking alternate accommodation ASAP.

The Deal

Limited release early bird Beats On the Beach tickets are available now for a staggeringly agreeable $85 + bf. Early bird camping tickets covering full festival entry + two nights and three days camping come in at a miniscule $178+booking fee. When early birds sell out as they inevitably will, the value for money equation remains intact at $95 + bf for general entry and $190 + bf for camp tickets.
