2 nights camping at Southbound Festival

Had enough of the frosty cloak of winter? Well, here is some news to warm your world – the Southbound Festival is returning in 2007 with an expanded two nights’ camping experience plus exclusive entertainment for campers.

Following approval from the Busselton Shire Council, this year’s Southbound Festival will offer two nights’ camping, on Friday, January 5 and Saturday, January 6, providing the quintessential festival experience and continuing Southbound’s tradition as the finest Music, Camping and Arts festival in WA.

The Busselton Shire Council has also approved an increase in camping capacity to 8,000, with an increase in the main festival capacity to 20,000.

The Southbound campsite will be extended to incorporate serene farmland adjoining the festival site at Sir Stewart Bovell Park, Busselton, amongst stunning native flora.

Complementing this unique camping experience, campers will have their very own entertainment area featuring acoustic performances from some of the world’s finest artists, under an impressive Big Top.

And, to complete this unique pre-festival camping experience, outdoor movies will be screened, along with street theatre performances. And what would a music festival be without a karaoke battle? Brush up on your Greece Megamix, as you never know who will be listening…

The pre-festival entertainment takes place on the night of Friday, January 5, with the festival itself following on Saturday, January 6.

Busses will also be provided to commute campers into the Busselton city centre on Friday night, and beautiful Geographe Bay on Saturday morning for a refreshing dip before the festival kicks off.

All of this, plus more than 30 international, national and local acts on three stages on the Saturday…but we’ll let you know more about that soon.

Stay tuned for the more information regarding the Friday night pre-festival entertainment as well as the first round festival announcements, plus two exciting new initiatives Sunset Events will be launching for Southbound 2007.

The Southbound Festival is Western Australia’s first major European-style festival; giving punters the chance to experience what music fans overseas and in the eastern states have been enjoying for decades, with an Aussie twist.

The third annual, all-ages Southbound Festival is supported by Triple J.
