Jimmy Barnes to be inducted into ARIA Hall Of Fame

ARIA (Australian Record Industry Association) is proud to announce that JIMMY BARNES, one of Australia’s most enduring performers, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 2005 ARIA Awards on Sunday October 23rd.

As one of Australia’s most successful rock & roll singers, he will round out the Hall of Fame inductions for 2005 to join Smoky Dawson, Renee Geyer, Normie Rowe, Split Enz, Hunters & Collectors and The Easybeats (all inducted at the inaugural ARIA Hall of Fame event in July) as the final artist to be inducted for 2005…

‘Music has brought me a lot of pleasure and I have met a lot of fantastic people in this industry. I consider myself blessed to have been able to make music for the past 30 odd years (and I do mean ODD), and to be acknowledged by my peers in this way is just icing on the cake. Music is the language of the Soul and I look forward to much more in the years to come,’ said Jimmy Barnes.

For more than twenty straight years, Jimmy Barnes, the solo artist, had been going full tilt – writing, recording, touring – without a break – as well as being a husband to Jane and father to three daughters and one son. This multi-faceted, multi talented artist shows no sign of slowing down and, as if to prove a point, ARIA is also delighted to announce that Jimmy Barnes will perform live at the ARIA Awards on Sunday October 23rd in honour of his Hall of Fame induction.
