ARIA performers announced

Hot off the heels of the final five nominations announcement, ARIA is excited to confirm the first three Australian artists who will be performing as part of the celebration and ceremony at the 2005 ARIA Awards on Sunday October 23rd. In what has been a golden year for Australian music, these performances showcase some of this country’s finest talents.

A music industry veteran at just 26 years of age, BEN LEE has enjoyed a year of unprecedented musical success with his album Awake is the New Sleep, and will delight ARIA Awards audiences with a performance of the buoyant pop-rock folk for which he has become renowned. With a live show that is full of ebullient charm and gleeful spontaneity, BEN LEE is a genuinely uplifting performer and is set to have ARIA AWARDS audiences singing along all-together-now!

Also stepping up to the stage at the 2005 ARIA AWARDS will be none other than MISSY HIGGINS. Nominated for a huge 7 ARIA Awards, MISSY is Australia’s current golden girl of pop music. Lauded for her simple sublime songwriting and intimate and emotional live performances, MISSY HIGGINS will light up the Arias in 2005.

He’s the wild card that scaled the heights of Australian Idol and entered Australian music television folklore with his live performance of ‘The Prayer’ – the resultant single becoming fastest selling single in Australian music history. ANTHONY CALLEA will join the line up of performers for this year’s ARIA Awards to thrill audiences with the magic voice that has garnered this bright young thing such cross generational adulation.
